J.Lo Hospital On Alert to Thwart Babynapping

Jennifer Lopez TMZ has learned that the Long Island hospital where J.Lo will probably give birth to her twins is practicing "pink drills" -- code for thwarting a possible kidnapping.

Sources at North Shore Medical Center tell TMZ the hospital conducted a "Code Pink" drill last Friday -- "Code Pink" is code for locking down the hospital to prevent a kidnapping attempt.

A rep for North Shore confirmed that the pink drill did indeed go down, but said that the timing is just a coincidence, but that's not what our sources are saying.

31. I think that the code pink isn't concidential, but also not per say for JLo. I think the hospital is thinking that it would be a perfect time for someone to try and steal a baby. With all the media and possible "crazy" fans around, it would be possible for someone to get in who doesn't belong and take someone's baby. Yes there are precautions in place, I just had a baby and his band came off easily. So nothins is fool proof and there should always be a plan in place in case something goes wrong. You would want that if god forbid something like that would happen to you.

33. Code Pink drills are practiced at most hospitals, just like code red (fire), and the disaster drills. I really doubt they are doing a code pink drill just in preparation for J-Lo. Nice attempt at a story.

34. This is a load of BS. The hospital isn't running Code Pink drills just for her. Every hospital who has a nursery runs Code Pink drills. This is just a case of someone trying to make JLo more important than she really is.

35. The maternity ward at the hospital where JLo is allegedly set to deliver (North Shore University-LIJ/Manhasset), is a locked ward. When one gets off the elevator on that floor, there is a little lobby and the maternity ward is to the left. You must pass through doors normally kept locked to enter the ward. Someone sits outside the ward and checks in every person who attempts to enter the ward. The person entering the ward must show ID and indicate who they are there to visit. Given that the hospital isn't even admitting that JLo will be a patient there, it's doubtful that anyone showing up at the door to the locked ward could get inside unless they knew the name of another mother and lied their way in. Any "code pink" drill would be beneficial to all of the families with babies there, so what's the harm, anyway?

36. I work in the Marketing department of a local hospital and this is standard. Hospitals perform this drill regardless of who is delivering. I am sure that the hospital security will be on a higher alert given that a celebrity is delivering at their hospital, but the alert itself is a standard procedure.
